They found the soft spot
in your stucco. We take it away.
Northern Flickers drill through synthetic stucco to nest in the foam behind it, and every hole lets water into your wall. We rebuild the damage and coat the entire wall with Graphex: a hardened finish woodpeckers physically can't peck through.
Calgary's mature, treed communities, Tuscany, Rocky Ridge, Scenic Acres, Varsity and the inner-city, are prime woodpecker territory. Northern Flickers are drawn to EIFS (synthetic stucco) because the foam board behind the acrylic finish sounds hollow, like a dead tree. They drum on it to mark territory in spring and drill into it to excavate nesting cavities.
EIFS puts foam insulation behind a thin acrylic skin. To a flicker, that hollow sound means a nesting cavity worth opening up.
Every hole goes through the waterproof layer. Water enters the foam, tracks down the wall, and saturates the sheathing behind it.
Foam channels keep water out of sight. By the time staining shows indoors, the damage behind the finish is usually far worse.

A patch fixes the hole. It does not change the wall the bird remembers. Flickers come back to the same elevation every spring, and a standard acrylic finish gives out at about 25 newtons, less than one hard strike.
Graphex is how we change the wall: a graphene-reinforced coating troweled on like a finish, tested at 75 newtons. The bird lands, taps, gets nothing, and moves on. We rebuild the damage first, coat after, and match your colour and texture. One crew, one job.
Patching a hole fixes today. Flickers come back to the same wall next spring. Full Graphex application is what actually ends it.
Holes cut out, rebuilt to the ADEX spec and texture-matched. The right call for a first-time strike caught early.
Most damage happens on one or two walls, usually the quiet, sunny side of the house. We rebuild every hole, then coat that full elevation so there is nothing soft left to drum on. The most chosen fix.
For homes hit year after year, every EIFS surface hardened in one mobilization. Multi-elevation systems for care facilities, retail and multi-family too. Commercial services →

A proper repair rebuilds the wall from the foam out, not a dab of filler in the hole.

The cavity is cut back to sound material. No nest, no soft foam, nothing compromised stays in the wall.

Fresh foam replaces everything we removed, cut to fit tight and flush. The insulation layer is whole again.

Fibreglass mesh embedded in base coat ties the repair into the wall per the ADEX spec, the same reinforcement the rest of the system has.

Hardened Graphex goes over the repair, or the whole wall. Then we apply the finish after, matched to your colour and texture. 10-year warranty in writing.
Graphex is engineered by ADEX for woodpecker-prone walls. The warranty is in writing, and the manufacturer stands behind it with us.
Protect the wallWhat Calgary homeowners ask first.
Once a flicker finds a wall that sounds hollow, it returns season after season, and a simple filler patch leaves the same hollow sound. Graphex removes the drum-like response and is too dense to drill, so the wall stops being a target.
Woodpeckers almost always target EIFS (synthetic stucco) because of the foam behind it; traditional cement stucco is solid and rarely pecked. If you're not sure which you have, we'll confirm on-site, the repair method differs, and getting it wrong traps moisture.
No. Each hole breaches the weather barrier, so water gets into the foam and down to the sheathing. Left alone it leads to rot and mould that's far more expensive to fix than the original holes.
We colour- and texture-match the finish to the surrounding wall. On most homes the repair blends in; on older, faded finishes we'll tell you up front if a section may need re-coating for a seamless match.
